Navigating Hormonal Health: Nurse Practitioner Services for Hormone Balance

Your hormones can help you feel your best - but sometimes they can cause all kinds of havoc. Most of the time when we think of hormones, we’re just thinking about sex hormones including estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. Your body’s hormonal system, the endocrine system, covers blood sugar regulation, metabolism, sex hormones and so much more.

Common symptoms that may be related to hormonal health include:

  • Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep

  • Challenges with body composition or weight management

  • Persistent fatigue

  • Heavy periods

  • Irregular periods

  • Low libido

  • And many, many more

During a hormone therapy consultation with our Nurse Practitioner, Michelle, you’ll have time to review all of your symptoms. Our Nurse Practitioner will help you understand if you are a candidate for hormone therapy and have a conversation with you about the potential benefits and the risks. You’ll leave your visit with a requisition to have your hormones tested to determine what dosages are indicated for you, should you choose to continue with hormone therapy.

Patients using hormone therapy require ongoing monitoring including blood testing and sometimes annual imaging to ensure the therapy remains safe and indicated. Our Nurse Practitioner typically sees her patients every 3-6 months until they are stable and happy with their symptom management, then will see them annually for ongoing care.

You can also work with our team of Naturopathic Doctors and Dietitian if you need ongoing lifestyle support to help in addition to hormone therapy.
